With the ban on watering, city by-law officers are hard at work.

But one Christie Park-area suspect nearly caught wet-handed wasn't impressed with the attentions of his neighbours.

"That old guy up there's got nothing better to do," says the senior citizen, who accused his nosey neighbour of brandishing a hose of his own.

"I wasn't using any water -- I was washing out the back of a truck."

That was enough for Bruce and Raymundo to issue a gentle warning to the man.

"He confessed," said Bruce.

And yet another bright bulb chimes in...

When asked why he was washing his car at the 10th and 10th, Kimber Hewnigas clasped his hand over his mouth.

"Oh my God, I forgot all about it," he said.

"I'll only do half a wash instead."

Are people really so vain they cant let there car go 3 or 4 days without being washed?
