Default Cop Hits Four-year Old Girl With Motorcycle, Then Kills Dad

This is beyond disgusting...

Quote:
So… this cop hits a 4-year-old girl with motorcycle, and then, when confronted by an understandably irate father, shot and killed the man.

Never seen the site before. Someone posted it on FB and I thought it was thread-worthy.

Ah sorry, it just frustrates me when sites like that misrepresent what actually happened. I don't pretend that there aren't horrible police officers but I get mighty tired of seeing them constantly unfairly attacked.

I like that CP has it's own real-time snopes.

How do you know for sure which of those website is misrepresenting the facts?

@ Jiri

Read your link and the two seem miles apart. The NY Daily being a concise, cut-and-dry-think-no-more-of-it type article. The nut-bar website addresses the issue of the media not reporting on the witness accounts of the events, which is what I find compelling and thus why I posted the thread.

Probably because the NY Daily News article is a follow up. Here's the lead story: http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012...wood-residents

The link you posted provides basically no details and cherry picks to fit their anti-cop narrative. I'm not a huge backer of the police in most cases but that site is pathetic.

I looked at the site and the type of material they post there and concluded that they are loons. I am comfortable with my assessment.

Based on that article, i could see how blind rage could take over some people when they see their little girl injured like that. We really don't know in what kind of attitude the cop was acting towards the witness's and on lookers, the little girls Father being one of them.
Its obvious that this cop's careless actions driving led to this horrible result.

I wouldn't say it's obvious at all.

By the way, nice tags.

ok maybe wrong choice of words, it would appear instead of obvious. The cop's action in return lead to a series of reactions. That resulted in a little girl injured along with another person also hurt when he slammed out of control into them and now the little girls Father is dead after the distraught Father started beating on the officer.

Of course it's obvious! Children never run out onto the street, so the cop must have been swerving around looking for children to hit. Good chance he jumped the curb at some point too...ya know, to get a better angle.

What a terrible story. Not sure any of us would have reacted any differently in any of the people's shoes in this case.

Base on the details as we know them:I would disagree. The girl running into the street, causing the motorcycle driver to utilize extreme avoidance measures to avoid running her over, is what caused this accident. The father attacking the motor cycle driver, despite being advised he was a police officer, exacerbated the situation. The cousin kicking the driver further escalated an extremely scary situation. After suffering broken bones from the fall and being punched in the face, as well as being kicked while on the ground, it was likely a reasonable reaction to pull his firearm and fire in self defence, again after advising that he was a police officer and observing no reduction in aggression.Dad and cousin made a bad situation immeasurably worse which lead to the Dad's death.Terrible all around.

I can say for sure I wouldn't have ran out and started beating the guy. I would have at least figured out what happened first. Accidents happen. The girl ended up being fine. If the girl was killed, I could understand the rage a little more. I would like to think my first instinct would be to check on my daughter and make sure she's ok and I would probably stay with her until the ambulance arrived.

Sure but i know that I get an irrational fury when either of my kids get hurt. Ironically, even if it is the other kid that hurts them. I don't know how I would react in this situation but the fury would be there if I saw my kid run into a road and then get smoked by a bike. I would like to say I would react like you say you would but I can't gurarantee it.

Really? You were there were you? Because unless that's the case it's not obvious at all.

Ha, it doesn't even appear to be the case. One account is that she dashed into the road, the other is that she was crossing with her cousin. None of us know which is true.
