Default Olympic GDT - 12 August

A Canadian is fairing well in the first element of Modern Pentathlon this morning: Melanie Mccann. Veteran Donna Vakalis of Ontario is also taking part, but she's struggling a bit in the fencing element.

That's what I have my eye on this morning.

There's still lots of chatter about last night's DQ.

Otherwise...time for me to be bias again...give Sinclair the flag

Enjoy the last day everyone!

Wow this men's vball gold medal game is pretty good. Russians trying to come back from down 2-0 and down 3 points in the 3rd set.... and they do! Winning the 3rd set.

Russia wins the 4th set! what a comeback! 15 points to go.

Men's basketball starting right now. If Spain can pull off the upset it would make up for the US Women's soccer team winning gold.

This is like the NBA All-Star game in terms of defense. Both teams have 45 points in less than 15 minutes

The refs are doing a good job of keeping Spain in it so far.

If they keep this up it could be a close game, if the game is called properly should be over before the 4th quarter starts.

Spain might be in control of this game if they didn't screw up with Marc Gasol's foul trouble. Americans cannot stop them inside

Spain making it close...

Kobe with a bonehead turnover... USA can thank Durant if they hold onto this game.

Chris Paul showing its not only Spain who can flop. This game was lost when Spain's coach dicked up with Marc Gasol. They couldn't stop them inside with just Pau and Ibaka, throw Marc in there and they could have opened the game up and put the pressure on the US like they needed to.

That's pretty much the game.

Spain should be very proud of their effort. Hard to compete with a team full of NBA superstars.

Damn I was hoping Spain would win, would have made things a lot more interesting.

It's too bad Spain's second best player (Rubio) is injured. I think he would have made a huge difference in this game.

Unfortunetly if you go with what if for Rubio, it'd be the same for the US and Dwight. Dwight alone would have made them much, much better inside.

Good to see Spain lose.

Not a huge fan of the Dream Team but the way Spain flops and dives is disgusting. Not sure if Fernandez should go teach Barcelona how to dive or if they taught him all he knows but either way it seems no matter the sport Spain has 0 integrity.

Add Dwight and Rubio to each team and US likely wins by 15-20 points.

They won this game easily with LeBron guarding Marc Gasol for most of the game, put Howard in there and it is fast break after fast break for the US team.

The game he was out there for. Taking away Rubio or Dwight, if they got Marc out with two or even three fouls, it would have made a big difference today. Outside Durant and CP3, US wasn't playing well until LeBron stepped it up at the end.
