Just noticed out my window that the torch on the Calgary Tower is lit. Anyone know what's up?

Is the Queen back in town?

A safety beacon to warn passing ships on Great Bow Lake?

I saw a blip on Global News this morning there is going to be some kind of grand opening, since the Tower has been newly renovated in conjunction with the Alberta centenial. They had Andrew Schulz up there showing off the glass floor, pretty wild looking.

On my way to work I saw that.
I asked all my coworkers, they said it was for the floods.
Thanks now I know.
