I just woke up and last night I went to see the midnight screening of the new Batman Movie. One Word: Awesome..........Christian Bale is one of my fav actors and was very good as Batman. But the story in this one was what made this movie. It pretty much tells Bruce Wayne's entire life, from child to teenager......to a man who disappeared from Gotham.....to a knight in training to Batman himself...........Direc tor Chris Nolan did a very good job in giving his movie a new look from the Burton and Schumacher movies.............IMO this new Batman rivals the first Michale Keaton film as the best of the bunch. The only thing lacking from this new one is a really cool villain like Jack Nicholson was......but still very good movie and definitely cracks my top 5 list so far of flicks this year.
1. Crash...............(prob on my top 5 all time)
2. Sin City
3. Batman Begins
4. Star Wars Episode 3
5. The Aviator.....(i saw in 05, so that counts for me..........i know it came out in December)

Might go see it tonight actually, depending on how my back is. I liked the first Batman, was okay with Batman returns.. and hated the third one, and the 4th one was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
This one looks good though, great cast. Christian Bale has alot more acting chops then Clooney, Kilmer, and Keaton combined. Liam Neason, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Cane is one hell of a supporting cast.

I'm a big batman fan. I highly recommend the graphic novel, Batman Year One, which this movie was apparently loosely based on. Frank Miller wrote it and it's excellent.
I do have a contention with Jack Nicholson's joker. I thought it was an awful representation of the comic book joker and that had they actually went with a pg-13 or R rating and had the *real* joker in it then the first Batman movie would have been incredible. Instead we get typical Nicholson and an extremely watered down movie.

nicholson was a watered-down joker, i agree,
but the joker's maniacal grimace when he beat robin to death with a crowbar in that helicopter, in the comic book,
could never have been accepted by an audience of ten-year-olds and their parents.
that compromise in mind, the first batman was a seriously, dark movie.

Just saw the movie, and only one word can describe it - fantastic. The story made the movie, while the action scenes and character development were top notch.
I definently recommend everyone to go see this flick. Can't wait for the second one to come out.

Fantastic graphic novel/mini-series. Year two, drawn by Todd McFarlane is pretty good as well. Now if they'd only make a movie based on The Dark Knight Returns miniseries. Droooool. If done right, that'd be freakin' amazing.

I saw this movie last night ... and wow. I didn't know what to expect going in, and came out loving it. The best Batman movie to date, no doubt. Christian Bale is a great Batman, and the support actors this go around are actually good! Highly recommended.

Hearing the comments on this movie is making me excited. I always hated how the Bruce Wayne character played second fiddle to enemies like the Riddler and Mr. Freeze. Bruce Wayne is probably the most psychologically disturbed character in the whole series besides Joker and Harlequin.
Wow, I'm going tonight, that's it!

AWESOME movie! SSSSOooooooooo good!
My only complaint is in regards to the 'Joey Potter' nipple shots. In a movie that was so dark and true to its roots those shots just seemed too planted. Although, maybe they are there in the comic books?
The actual shots were nice in there own right though... lol....

I'm going to see it tomorrow, and I can't wait... I've been a big Batman fan ever since I was a really little kid. I even had the old school Batman pyjamas that were supposed to look like the uniform. It sounds like I won't be disappointed too...

Well this was on my list of movies to check out, but I'm definitely making sure I see it this weekend after these reviews. This is a great cast of actors and not just stars with average acting ability so I'm looking forward to it.

checked it out tonite...I have to admit that this was my favorite Batman...very dark but well told story. Acting was great, and although I was unsure about Bales as the Bat, he was probably the best by far. Michael Cain as Alfred is also excellent casting.
Go see it....in the big wide screen expensive format.

I give props to you being a Batman fan but Batman Year Two is a disgrace. The reaper?! Ugh...

amazing, simply amazing
a few minor things I would have done differently, but only to pay respects to the original. There were a few lines that were the same, but I like the character progression, and development.
amazing
wow
I don't know what else to say but "wow"

What a great movie! Cain was great as Alfred, and Bales was awesome as Batman, if there is one movie you should see this summer it is Batman. I loved his car.

I saw this last night and I'll add my unbridled enthusiasm to everyone else's. It accurately captured the cerebral/philosophical qualities, which in my mind are an important part of the graphic novel / comic book genre, but never seem to make it into the films. Definitely a lot of substance to go with the sleek surface.
