Default Looking for a not busy, quiet, intimate downtown lunch spot

I've got to meet someone for lunch on Tuesday, and they told me to pick a place and they'll meet me.

Usually I avoid eating downtown because of the busy craziness.

I was going to pick Crush Lounge on 12th ave SW, because it always seemed dead to me, but I see that they're gone.

Any ideas? Meeting at 1 or 2ish p.m. Looking for a relatively quiet spot, hopefully we'd be avoiding the rush at this time.

That's a shame. They had awesome mussels.

The Moxies on 7th ave is usually pretty dead at lunch but is a comfortable place for a business meeting.

Huh. I end up going there every week or two because of proximity to my office, and it is usually almost packed.

Honestly, the only places that aren't going to be busy either suck or aren't especially nice inside. If you don't care for how fancy a place looks, try the Luxor on 7th ave and 10th st west. They serve Egyptian food and the Mummy wraps are excellent. There is a great Indian place on 3rd, but I can't recall the name, sorry.

The Pig and Duke, what is now where Crush was, has excellent food. I have taken many friends there and they have never had a complaint.

I know about 2 the Holy Grill is pretty empty. I used to walk by there every day coming back to work from school.

Are you looking to avoid traffic and having to find a parking spot or looking for a quiet place to talk details of something?

The Moxies on 7th has horrendous service, so unless you want a 2 hour lunch, avoid it.

Cafe Danois on 5th is very quiet even at 12 pm. Good food too and cheaper than the other options.

Holy Grill (and everywhere downtown) is quiet at 2pm. Most places are crazy from 12-1:30pm.

How about Wurst in Mission?

A great option for eating outside is Carne in Olympic Plaza. Lot's of seating as well and usually pretty quiet. Plus the food at Carne is amazing.

A quiet place to talk. I got an email from someone I haven't heard from in 20 years, told me to pick a spot for lunch downtown. The circumstances are quite tragic, actually.

Thanks for the options, folks.
