JOB OVERVIEW
Based out of our Edmonton facility, Manager, Supply Chain Management - Ore Preparation & Extraction and Tailings will lead, direct, and manage Supply Chain Management Fort Hills Mine Project activities by leveraging core supply chain functions to meet requirements for Construction and Engineering at the Project site.
Reporting to the Director, Fort Hills Mine, the Manager, Supply Chain Management - Ore Preparation & Extraction and Tailings will drive internal compliance with current Supply Chain Major Project policies, procedures, strategies and guidelines on an ongoing basis.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Define the individual annual performance targets for the team, aligned with the overall Supply Chain Management and Major Projects organizations' objectives
- Contributes to recruiting, hiring, and retaining qualified professionals and technicians
- Drive internal compliance with Project policies, procedures, strategies and guidelines, ensuring direct reports are complying with all policies, processes, and procedures
- Establish project schedules and ensure the team adheres to timelines
- Integrate activities of contracted resources with activities of resources
- Establish and steward budgets and forecasts
- Provide short to medium term planning, scheduling, and coordinating for the supply of materials, services, and equipment
- Regularly review materials / services strategies and enhance effectiveness of existing strategies or develop new strategies in response to changing environmental factors and evolving requirements of the business
- Generate, propose and implement process improvements aligned to the strategic objectives for the Project, as well as the Supply Chain organization as a whole
- Participate in cross-functional teams to represent the Supply Chain Management organization for the Fort Hills Project
- Lead the resolution of general service issues with suppliers
- Lead and manage contracts with suppliers with regards to material handling activities
- Ensure materials, equipment and services are delivered/mobilized to meet Project requirements and timelines
- Monitor and guide the developed project scope for quality, cost, and schedule following the principles of the Project Implementation Methodology (PIM)
- Maintain effective communication and positive collaborative relations within key internal and external stakeholders
- Gather data and conduct analysis to measure the degree to which the project goals, objectives and metrics are being met
- Direct completion of project close-out reviews and ensure successful handoff to corporate Supply Chain Management team
- Ensure project quality and completeness checks are conducted to identify the successful completion of project objectives
Education and Experience:- A Business or Supply Chain related degree from a recognized institution
- A minimum of 10 years experience in Supply Chain Management
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Mining or Utilities industry preferred
- A minimum of three years in management roles, with increasing levels of responsibility is required
