Speed Limit on Macleod - what is it?
The intersection of 12 ave specifically (before the Talisman center), is it 60kph there? or is it lower at that intersection? I got flashed (yes I admit it) and was curious to know the speed. I was going 70+ probably closer to 80.

Perhaps in a few years once the bridge over the river is doubled and there are no lights at Nose Hill Drive. What exists there currently is patchwork compared to what it ultimately should be.

It looks like they are working on twinning the bridge right now. They have the pilings in for the first bridge (the one that crosses the railroad tracks and dam access road) but they haven't started on the next part yet so I'm guessing it's going to be a long process.

It should be 110 at least, I usually drive 120 in the section I use. I have never driven on the section you are talking about, but if speed limit is already 100 moving it 110 will not cause people to fly off the roads. I'm sure a lot of people already drive a that speed.

110 will be fine when the interchanges are in place and the intersections/traffic lights are removed. Lots of places on US interstates are 75 mph (120) and don't feel fast or unsafe.

Is that truly going to be a twinned bridge for N/S traffic on Stoney? Or is it a merge bridge from eastbound Nosehill to NB Stony? Been a while since I've been over there.

Stoney is good enough to drive 130 km/h legally. Maybe 120 at night.

Loved the 80mph (~128) test sections on I-15 in Utah. Those were straight roads, no hills, nothing around.

They should test 130km/h here on Stoney. Maybe less people would speed in the city.

In the UAE, they have 140 km/h highways. Then again, if you want gnarly and frequent huge accidents, that's a good way to begin. If that's not enough, limit big trucks to the far right lanes and set their speed limit to 80 km/h. Mass chaos and fear ensues when merging!
In general, I find Canadian speed limits to be too low and the UAE to be on the upper end of danger. 110 km/h seems to be a nice middle-ground.
