Default Samsung Laptop Advice

I'm looking to buy this particular laptop:

I'm not the savviest computer person and I'm not exactly sure if this a good deal at $349. I'm just looking for an honest opinion as I don't exactly trust sales people. Thanks in advance for the help CPrs!

It has a weak processor that is a couple years old. I dont know much about them, but I remembered them being compared to the Atom processor, which means low power consumption with a speed (1.66 GHz)to match.

Still should run most things an average user needs, but if you do any gaming, lots of multitasking, or high powered application use, it won't be for you.

As for the deal, it is reasonable, but not fantastic if you consider you could probably get an i3 in the $500-$550 range if you looked.

Thank you for the help. I don't do a lot of gaming, other than the occasional NHL game. Mainly I'm just looking for everyday things with msword, and a decent dvd player. Thanks Rathji....I think I will look for a laptop with the processor you mentioned.

This Dell Canada Day event seems to be still on, and will give you a basic idea of pricing you can expect for reasonably priced laptops.

The entry level Inspiron 15, with i3 (2.66 Ghz) processor is $449.
