And I do have to say it was the best of the three prequels, but I still wouldn't put it on the same level as the original three. And that said, I don't think anyone else would either. For as much as this movie made the series come full circle, I fully expect the nerdlings to start calling out plot holes and inconsistencies and such. I didn't notice any, to me it flowed extremely well, but I'm sure someone is going to debate such trivial things.
Make sure you pay attention to the Wookie war though; some definite comedy spots in that even if it's not meant to be funny!
Can't wait for episode IV to come out!

I hope to god he is...
This movie has been getting a real Fresh rating on rottentomatoes.com which is suprising to me. Critics for the most part are liking the movie. Around 80% of them when I last checked.
the entire point of the prequels was to tie up loose ends, and if this film does that I'll be happy. From reading 2/3's of the book (Saving the last 3rd for after I see the film) I am confident it does it pretty well.

^^^Yeah its sitting at 84% right now with an avg of about 7/10. Meaning most critics think its good but not great. Not bad considering critics are more likely to hate movie with this much hype.

I can't remember back to 1999, but wasn't the Phantom Menace getting good early reviews as well?
Either way, I'll be seeing this film within the coming weeks. Maybe skip out on an afternoon next week and see a matinee.
That General Grevious looks cool though.

I saw it last night too. I am not that big of a Star Wars fan (haven't seen episode V or VI yet), but I really wanted to see this since it was supposed to be so dark and the trailers looked really good
I enjoyed it so Star Wars fans will love this.
But now I am so tired at work

Well since George Lucas owns the rights to Star Wars you'd have to convince him to do it, or at least convince him to let someone else to do Episode 7.
He has said in the past that the novels have done a good job of picking it up where ROTJ left off. He has even given his input into some of the story lines, like who should be the main character (from the movies) who dies at the beginning of the New Jedi Order story arch, and the main character (created in the novels) to die in the middle of the story arch (the New Jedi Order story arch spans over 19 novels).
So, unfortunately for Star Wars fans, Episode III will be the final Star Wars movie we'll get to see. I am glad too because after reading all of the novels, I'd hate for George Lucas to make episodes 7, 8 and 9 and completely ignore the extended universe that the novels have created.

I think it would have been way better if Lucas did episodes 7,8, and 9 rather than the first 3. The first 2 episodes were sooo bad, and episode 2 was the only movie i have ever fell asleep in.
The only way i will watch the 3rd episode is if they behead Jar Jar binks or if he brings back the ewoks.

I didn't mind the second prequel. First one was okay except for Jar Jar and the end fight in space. Well not so much the end fight itself, but basically every time that little kid came on screen I cringed. At least you know in the back of your mind that he becomes so delightfully evil later on.
If the third one is supposed to be the best of the three then I expect I will enjoy it alot...

Actually Episode III, if nothing else, is worth seeing just for the fight between General Greivous and Obi-Wan.
Can't wait for Episode IV to come out!

I didn't mind either of Episodes I or II. I do like Episode II much better than Episode I though. I truly don't understand why everybody hates Episode II more than Episode I.

They are doing a remake on Star Wars: A New Hope with brand new special effects but with EXACTLY the same dialouge. I heard from the same site, Episode 7 will be filmed with lego characters, in the format of Team America World Police.

I can't wait for Episode IV to come out too as well. Should be good, what with that Luke kid growing up and all.
See you all in three years!

Being old enough to remember seeing the first Star Wars flick when it first came out, I am a little confused that there isn't going to be an Episode VII, VIII, and IX. That was the original game plan. Three trilogies. Middle first, prequel second, and the final trilogy last.
But I have read that Lucas says this is the last one. Is he tired? Or just hasn't got it anymore....
Regardless, he is wasting a golden opportunity to continue the adventure.

I'm not a Star Wars hater at all...in fact, I was the right age to enjoy the original 3 movies when they came out. However, I have a huge problem with seeing movies where the plot is already exposed. What's the point?
I'll see it because my son wants to....but I wish Lucas had started from the beginning instead.

The next thing for Star Wars is a cartoon show and real action TV shows. Star Wars will become the next SiFi tv show. Good timing considering there is no Star Trek on after this season.

Thats not really correct.
Episode 9 as written by Lucas featured the Death of the Emperor, and the revealing of Luke Skywalkers sister, and the destruction of the second death star.
Lucas compressed it all into return of the Jedi
He's also said many times that the entire 6 film arc is about the fall and redemption of Anikan Skywalker, and that was wrapped up in Episode VI.
There was never going to be an episode 7-9

Lucas just had so much potential in ep 1-3 that he totally wasted and screwed up.
It could have been grand, with real camraderie between Obi-wan and Anakin, genuine goodness you see from him that makes his fall even more tragic. The clone wars could have been really amazing but we basically lose the entire thing to the between movie gulf and it's relegated to some cartoon series.
But the whole thing plays out flat, with plotlines that are so political and offer so many factions, most people would get totally confused and think they are watching C-Span...the relationships and acting are flat too - and that's a byproduct of doing EVERYTHING on green screen. It's just hard to act when you have to imagine everything happening around you and act accordingly.
