Default E3 2012 News & Discussion Thread

Dammit I want E3 to start already so I can be shown a new Star Wars game that I will buy without question regardless of the quality or reviews! It's a new franchise they say!

Why would anybody want a new Star Wars game? It's probably the most overdone and overexposed and overreaching license out there. The only thing in that vein that would interest me would be a new X-Wing or Tie Fighter space sim.

Because Star Wars is awesome. Who cares if it's "overdone and overexposed" in your opinion, a good Star Wars game is worth its weight in gold and with decent Star Wars games so few and far between that I'm excited for the chance there may be a keeper coming out.

What are the good Star Wars games in your opinion?

Rebellion! Micromanage the entire SW galaxy! I wish they'd remake that with space battle graphics stolen from Empire at War or something.

cDn got it right. Tie Fighter for sure, both Battlefront games were awesome and Jedi Knight was pretty good. I wanted to like the Force Unleashed games but they were just slightly off from being great. The idea of being a force wielding demigod and wiping out a hanger full of stormtroopers is awesome but somehow they managed to make it a little tedious in practice.

My favourite ever though was probably Star Wars: Bounty Hunter for Gamecube. It fulfilled my childhood dream of being Boba Fett (Jango whatever) and getting all bounty hunter up in some intergalactic scum's face.

I forgot Republic Commando. I really enjoyed that one too.

Completely unrelated but the new Tomb Raider looks interesting and I am not even a fan of the series.

Well, the new Star Wars game is Star Wars: 1313, a game about a bounty hunter exploring the underbelly of Coruscant.

Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.

I'm interested to see if Sony does an OnLive type of service for PSN+. I don't game quite as much as I used to, but that would be interesting.

This needs to happen... there hasn't been a good space sim in at least a decade.

Or whenever Freelancer came out.

Someone tell me about a good up and coming space sim and make my day.

Check out Wing Commander Saga. It's free. Came out a couple of months ago.

I wonder what obstacles are holding up a new X-Wing game. It seems you can't mention 'Star Wars' and 'video game' in the same sentence without someone pining for a new game in the series. Surely there's demand and money to be made . . .

Wow, I didn't even realize E3 started tomorrow. I thought it was usually in July.

I think this E3 is going to be quite underwhelming. Next years E3 however will kick ass.

It's been a long time since I've been this excited for E3.

Nintendo's presentation will be insane
