Default How to register your company

I know these details are available online, but its better to know some pointers from forum people before starting looking on web for this information.

I got some work for designing website for small company but they want me to send invoice.

My questions :

1.Do I need to register my self as consultant before I do it.
2.How much registering as consultant cost ?
3.Any free invoice generator ? What about taxes etc

Wondering if someone can give me head start on these things.
I dont want to spend much right now, but looking to grow in future.

Thanks

In your case, if it's not a reoccurring event, send them an invoice and then declare along with personal income tax as a source of revenue.

If you are a proprietorship you will not need to register.
- you a personally liable
- reduced government paper work if testing an idea no volume

If you want to incorporate you can have a professional do it for $750 to $1250.
- lots of government paperwork
- you are not personally liable.

Any company names should be registered and checked which can be done at the local ama, if you want to have a name or brand. Very affordable to do.

Best of luck.

Awesome. so in SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP I dont need to register anything but still can claim losses and expenses during tax file.

since All profits go to owner. Any losses can be deducted from other sources of personal income, which lowers the overall taxable income and amount of income tax to be paid from

So if I earn 100$ from my Job and somehow endup with loss of 30$ then can claim that loss during tax return. This one is good.
Thank you

I use Wave Accounting to do invoicing and keep track of everything:

I used Wayne Russell and Timpro about 5 years ago and he was excellent and less expensive. Sadly, I googled him and learned he passed away in 2013.

I'm not sure if anyone kept the business going or not.

Yep, Timpro registered my company about a year ago. My BIL is an accountant that sets lots of companies up and uses Timpro for all of them as far as I know. $550 or so.
