Whatcha doing for the long weekend?

One of my favourite weekends of the year! What are the folks of CP doing this May 2-4?

My friends and I have rented teepees not far from Hinton on the Athabasca river. Hope for a couple of epic meals, lots of drink, a horseback ride, a l'il fishin', and maybe the Miette hotsprings.

Being a displaced BC boy I always love to get back to the mountains!

I asked to be put on call for the weekend as well as put in extra hours on Saturday/Sunday for the current project. Some other guy beat me to it...

Now I will just have to sit at home and not make money. Bummer.

i got the call-up... this weekend are the 'provincials' for the men's ice hockey league that i play in.

2 teams are missing a goalie for certain games - so tomorrow afternoon i'm playing for some team from the coast and on saturday night i'm playing for the team that won my division here in kelowna.

the best was yesterday when i was talking on the phone to the dude from vancouver and he asked my what "level" i made it to playing goal... i asked him what he meant and he came back with, 'you know... midget, bantam, peewee, any college/university play' at which point i burst out laughing and then told him that i didn't start playing goal until 4 years ago at the tender age of 35 and i never played any kind of competitive hockey before that. the phone got suddenly silent! ha! ha! i bet they're all canucks fan so if i suck i'll just tell them i'm just doing my luongo impersonation. come to think about it, i should wear my kings jersey to the rink tomorrow... that should tick a few people off!

other than that, i'll be helping my mother-in-law do renos on her new place

Cottage country. Crack open the cottage tonight after a stressful 4+ hour drive north (which would normally take 2 hours)
Take it easy tonight, get to work in the morning opening up boathouse, raking paths, etc. Hope to be done by noon, then sit on dock and drink for 2 days.

I forgot this weekend was May long! How exciting, although I don't have any plans since I forgot it was May long.

I could have gone camping with friends this May long but since the weather is usually bad I haven't camped on May long in a few years. July and September long I always go camping though.

Going to Vancouver. Seeing Evil Dead the Musical there tonight with a friend, we got tickets for the "splatter zone." Should be a fun time!
