Not overly impressed with this one for some reason. I've bought pretty much every CoD game thus far, but this one just doesn't peak my interest.

I stopped after Modern Warfare 2. I said to myself I would never buy another piece of trash CoD game and I've stayed true to myself. This one wont change my stance.

The series peaked with Modern Warfare 1 which was 4.5 years ago.

Agreed.

...but I still buy them year in and year out because they're still good games, none of them have reached the level of impact MW1 had though.

I just call it COD12.

Like a sports franchise it comes out every year, slightly better, slightly more buggy, always old and overpriced.

I definitely get $60 out of each one playing with a group of friends. Though I really wish they would stop nickel and diming everyone for map packs and elite memberships, etc. It's really stupid and I never buy them but feel ripped off that they aren't included in the game in the first place. But DLC is a topic for another thread I guess.

Unlike many, I actually like the single player of CoD. Especially from this developer...don't ask me why. Was a huge fan of previous Black Ops and World at War single player.

Not a fan of multiplayer at all. Seems like the only viable stategies are camp or run around with head cut off.

lol as opposed to?

The one issue I have with the CoD series is the unrealistic nature of the guns, something that BF does much better. I'm tired of getting killed from a shot in the leg by a quick scope from a sniper rifle and a shotgun from across the map.

I actually started the CoD series at World at War and checked out the multiplayer on it for the first time just the other day...quite different from MW3 multiplayer

Battlefield. Similar games. Battlefield single player is crap, but the MP at least has some element of team strategy in it. The environment destruction also eliminates a lot of the camping and forces your team to be on the move.

I loved Black Ops...I would probably still be playing online, but it's getting harder and harder to find a match, and when you do, it seems like it's full of cheaters.
It had better maps than MW3 has.
I'll definitely pick this up, but I'm disappointed that it doesn't look like they've put much effort into improving graphic quality.
Treyarch needs to do something to step up their game, or they'll always be viewed as second class to Infinity Ward.

I bitch about this more than anything.
I don't understand how a dude running around hip firing a shotgun can kill me from 25' away.

Nothing more over-rated in this world than the CoD series.

I skipped MW2, because I'm a PC gamer (still). I think the last one I got was Black Ops. I wanted to checkout MW3 but having three young kids I just don't have the time to game as much as I really want to.

Lately I've been reminiscing about the good old days of Medal of Honor with the Spearhead expansion pack. Back before I had kids I would play that game. I was part of a clan and I would play most nights for two or three hours. If there were enough people still playing it I wouldn't play any of the new games, except for the 1st Modern Warfare.
