Default Youtube video quality settings

This has been driving me bananas recently.

Let's say I'm on youtube and want to listen (and watch!!!!!!) to a Jack White playlist.

I hit play all and the first video plays. But not in 720p, instead it plays in 360. So I change it to 720p.

Song finishes, goes to next video in playlist and of course it plays in 360. Drives me nuts.

I checked all the settings but the only one available says "Always choose the best quality for my connection and player size".

Well I'm on a pretty goddamn fast connection and the size of the player makes no difference to the settings. It claims it'll play all fullscreen videos in HD but then I can't do anything else like surf CP. .

It is driving me crazy to have all the songs auto play in 360p. Is there any effing way to fix this?

If you're listening to a playlist, why do you care about video quality?

It affects the audio quality too. I don't know why. 360 is lower all around quality not just video.

And I often keep it on the bottom of my screen so I can watch the videos while I surf CP.

I'd get a second monitor to watch the videos in full screen while still surfing CP.

Depending what browser you use, there are probably extensions to alter the youtube site. I use Chrome, and use this extension:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...kfpphniapiiifn

It lets you choose what quality videos are displayed in, and you can hide any section of youtube you don't like (comments, recommended videos etc.) I'm just not sure how it handles playlists, I haven't used one since I started using this.
