I saw the Stones from there. Not great, but better than nothing. The Stones had a stage that moved out into the audience, so we got a good view then. I think there was a big video screen too.

Back on the fresh horses tour I saw Garth from behind the stage at Rexall. If he is gonan do a show like that for this Cgy show then I wouldn't wry about it. He definately uses the entire stage

I wouldnt bother with those seats. The view would be terrible.
Unfortunately your promise is likely to cost you in either the wallet, or in upsetting them.
I cant imagine any concert worth what those tickets are going to be sold for.

You only need to worry about the behind the stage tickets if you go to Van Halen and David Lee Roth brings the a$$less chaps out of retirement.

I've sat back there a couple times and it's not terrible. You're buying too early though. The tickets price will come down as time goes on. The people buying now are the people scalpers love... people who fear they won't get tickets later.

Aren't all chaps a$$less by definition? It's kind of like saying "I'm going to wear a shirt with a neck hole." They're all like that...

I think the key defining feature of a$$less chaps is not the chaps themselves, but the lack of anything else which covers said a$$ while wearing them.
At least that's what I ask for at the store when I am getting mine.

If Garth is still the same as the last time he was here he plays to all sections of the stage not just the front.

Depends on the individual artist. Some artists have a wall behind them and don't acknowledge the audience behind them at all. This is, however, changing as most artists want to maximize their revenue from a venue. So now more and more artists are using a 360 degree stage concept. Many will actually turn around and play a song or two at the people in the "cheap seats" to acknowledge them.
Saw Bon Jovi for $25 in a behind the stage seat and it was great. The view we had was more of a side view. We were a lot closer to the band than we would have been anywhere else (other than floor, and I'm not a huge Jovi fan so was not planning on paying $200+). The stage also had big view screens directed in all directions, which showed him when he was at a bad angle to you.

For reference, at the Coldplay concert i went to, there were plenty of seats behind the stage with people in them. And not once did they turn around and sing. To me you miss out on what really makes a concert... a concert, when you do that.

I've seen numerous shows up at Rexall (never the Saddledome oddly enough) from various vantage points. I personally think that "behind the stage" views of shows are kind of fun. Get to see the artist from a totally different angle and often you're a lot closer to the stage. Not usually my first choice but I don't have a problem with them

I saw Ozzy in 2003 from those seats. He didn't acknowledge those areas, but to be fair Ozzy can barely walk. The cool thing was that I could read Ozzy's teleprompter.

I agree that it depends on the artist. My one and only experience in sitting behind the stage at the 'dome was for Elton John in row 10 of the 200's. The overall view of the band was fine and I got great value for my money. The Garth show was originally planned as 360 so I'd say the view will be good.
