Question The mystery of the spy in the duffelbag

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17922388

I don't know if this case has gotten any coverage in Canada but it sure is weird.

A brilliant MI6 codebreaker's body is found dead locked in a duffelbag in his empty bathtub with no signs of forced entry into his London apartment.

Accident, suicide or murder have all been suggested.

If murder, was the murderer a secret service operative (enemy or friendly) or a sexual deviant?

Evidence at the coroner's inquest included that of a "bag expert" who tried to lock himself in a bag 300 times.

Truth really is stranger than fiction.

I saw the thread title and I thought about Jupiter Jones, Bob Andrews and Pete Crenshaw.

No wife or kids. Apparently, he liked to buy women's wigs and clothes for himself.

On this point:

Rejecting speculation that he was a "transvestite" spy, [the coroner] said leaks that William was a "cross-dresser" could have been an attempt "by some third party to manipulate a section of the evidence".

Makeup found in his flat was more likely to reflect his interest in fashion, she argued. Wigs found there were "far more consistent with dress-up such as attendance at a manga conference", she added.

Williams's interest in female footwear could have been of a sexual nature, but this was not unusual. "Gareth was naked in a bag when he was found, not cross-dressed, not in high-heeled shoes," she said.

I am confused why there is doubt that this death is suspicious.
"A brilliant MI6 codebreaker's body is found dead locked in a duffelbag in his empty bathtub"
And people wonder whether this was possibly murder or not?

Although it has been all but ruled out now, some thought that it could be possible that he could get into the bag and lock it himself (if he has, say, autoerotic claustrophilia), and then die by accident by being unable to free himself or as an act of suicide.
