I saw this thread on the preview but the state was cut off, I was thinking we were in for another mad cow crap storm.
I wonder if they will take kindly to the same treatment they gave us?

The US, among other countries banned Canadian beef back in 2003-2006 due to BSE. Wonder if there will be some retaliation

Kill every mammal within a 500km radius of the infected cow, just to make sure.

Mad Cow disease is a sham. Cows only get mad when you milk them.

I can hardly believe that in all these years that BSE has been around, and the number of cattle in the USA, it has only had 4 cases (one of which was imported from Canada). Wow.
Are they just so much better than us in their animal husbandry proceedures or do the farmers just hide it better (shoot the cow and then bury it in the back 40 and don't tell anybody)?
Quote:
Through February 2011, BSE surveillance has identified 22 cases in North America: 3 BSE cases in the U.S. and 19 in Canada. Of the 3 cases identified in the United States, one was born in Canada; of the 19 cases identified in Canada, one was imported from the United Kingdom

In other news, beef industry leaders have just released new nutritional information concerning the importance of integrating mad cow disease into your daily diet.

Probably the industry catches itself and keeps things hush hush most of the time to avoid things coming out to the public like this but they missed this one.

From personal experience I can tell you that it happened more often than people think.

I also don't understand the big deal.
The constant meat recalls should be a more serious concern.

Reading this led me to some googling. Kind of a scary idea. No way to know if you ingested it and have become infected, can't detect it in blood donations, and can have a very long incubation period.
We could have a ticking-time bomb epidemic on our hands!
