HP LaserJet 3055 Install - HELP!!!
Hi everyone!
I am trying to re-install the drivers and software for an HP 3055 all in one laser printer. It still works via the network from the other two computers, but not from this one. The reason I wanted to reinstall everything was because the scanning software had somehow become corrupt.
I have downloaded and tried everything from HPs site, as well as everything else I can think of. All their software either hangs up or fails. If someone actually has the physical install disc that I might borrow that would be amazing. Or if someone knows what I might be doing wrong then please post!
My boss even lifted the CP-ban at work for me to come on here for this. If we come through, I get CP at work!!!

Are you running Windows 7?
Remove the old printer, add a new network printer. Enter in the IP address of the printer. Then when it asks for drivers, click Windows Update instead of Have Disk and try the ones there (may take a few minutes to download them all).

Have you tried the generic drivers? Depending on the model might not enable scanning though.

Your router, the printer or the other two PC's will have the printer IP address.

I found the IP addy, but when I type it in on the computer in question it cannot find it.

Yup. Looks good. But when I try to install a network printer using that IP it can't find it.

If I guess right you are trying to connect to a printer attached to the network and using the Add Printer Wizard in XP.
If yes then on the first page you should select "Local Printer attached to this computer" and deselect the Plug and Play option. (their wording is not very helpful, is it? Network printer in this instance refers to a print queue hosted on a server or shared through another PC)
On the next page either select an existing TCP/IP port if it already exists for that printer, or add a new TCP/IP port.

That .dll is in the driver package. You can extract files from the .exe using a program like WinRar, which will also extract files from .cab files if need be. Also when you run the installer, it extracts the files into a temp directory, such as the following as an example: (differs depending on the OS version)
C:\Users\Your_username\AppData\Local\Temp\7zSD63F. tmp
Point Windows to that folder or a folder you extracted the files to. If you still can't get anywhere then I can host the extracted files for you.
