Default Airline panic attack on video

One mans account of the incident, video taped and posted on youtube. Had to be quite an uncomfortable experience for other passengers to witness.

Quote:
I don't know what happened here. But this happened on my Air Canada plane ride to London, England in December 6th, 2007 from Toronto.

At 3:15 sec he says "f'in white people". I personally believe that another passenger somehow provoked or encouraged this persons paranoid behaviour.

What is important is that everybody arrived safely.

I am no medical doctor so I have no idea what this man was going through, but I feel that he seemed more concerned for his own safety? I think he was scared. I think it's a very fascinating phenomenon.

My partner and I decided we should videotape this in the interest of sharing the experience we went through on this plane with those interested.

Almost seems like more of a psychotic episode. In my experience panic attacks involve more shortness of breath, chest pain, shaking, crying...not so much angry ranting. I'm not a doctor either though, just a guess.

Yeah. Kind of seems more like a psychotic episode to me over a panic attack. I've a bit of experience with panic attacks (someone close to me gets them on occasion) and it's nothing like that. Of course, may be just a different sort of panic reaction.

Definitely looks like an underlying or unmedicated mental illness brought to the surface by increased stress. Nice to see people trying to help though. Would have been unnerving to witness given the current climate around flying though. I'm sure some people were thing maybe this guy knows something that the rest of the passengers don't in terms of some kind of imminent terrorist act or something.

"I'm going to die!!!!"

"You're not going to die"

"I know!!!"

Definitely some sort of mental issues, I wonder if they'll ever let him fly again?

He could possibly be suffering an hypoglycemic attack, strange nonetheless and I certainly would not want to be on that airplane.

No no we don't shoot people on planes because that would be dangerous. We gas them.
