[Epic Bump] Where in Calgary to get Barstools.
Does anyone have any ideas on retailers in Calgary who sell barstools?
I am looking for a location that would have them either in stock or floor models to test/sit/look before purchasing (I dont want to be spending that kind of money on something from a Catalog).
I was at Dufresene furniture in the NE and they have about the best selection I have seen and yet it was only 10 chairs, 3 tables.
I am looking for 4-6 30-32" stools with accompanying table (2 stools for breakfast area).
Price range 200-300/chair maybe 500 for the table (so that would exclude the Walmart/Superstore posts). I am just giving approx prices as that was what they had a Dufresene.
Thanks.

XS Wares or accessories...its called i think. There is also a cool place near the corner of 14th St and 11th Ave SW that has nice stools or furniture.

I could have sworn I saw something about custom stools at Home Depot- and of course I saw it near the electrical dept of the one in McKenzie Towne.

I just finished staining some stools I bought from Faveri's by the South Costco yesterday. Only took me 8 months to get around to that.... Decent selection of stuff, all viewable, and quite cheap. $50 for my two counter height bar stools.
That said, I'd probably get the ones off costco.ca next time...

Wow, 350-375 per stool on Costco.ca
Geesh.
I am looking for swivel with back. I will check the DfOM. Thanks.
I am not looking for the 100ish type stool. I want the thing to last. Walmart and Superstore both have 75$ stool but I want something that i wont be embarassed looking at it.
My GF is currently searching the trendy overexpensive near her apt on 17 so we will see what is there.
Thanks.

Well, I can't believe you can't find barstools in Calgary. We just did a big house renovation over the last year and purchased a lot of new furniture. I have been in dozens of stores and they all pretty well have bar stools that swivel and with backs, and in various heighths. Even Linens & Things has them, Home Outfitters, etc they are all over was my perception.
I got some very nice maple ones that do swivel and do have backs, I got mine at Amber's Oak but I could have got them at Lazy Boy, Bondar's, like they were all over when I was shopping. I guess it is just a matter of finding a style you like at the right price. Mine were in the price range you are suggesting.

few places in Kensington. One of then is the Urban Barn; don't remember the names of the other places, but they are all on the same block
edit: the other stores are In Gear and Killian. Judging from the prices on their website, InGear seems to fall into your price range

There was one near the blackfoot inn, across blackfoot on 58th ave that we went to that had lots of neat stuff, but I can't remember the name.

try Rona...
My previous house had a bar but no stools...
My In-laws bought me a bunch there. Had to assemble and stain myself but they were great.
Swivel with back...exactly what you were looking for.
Good Luck.

Urban barn (there's one beside Costco) as well as one of the other 10 furniture stores in that area. You might also want to check out Cricklewood on center street, right below the Glenmore overpass. They had all kinds of pricey stuff the last time I was there (barstools included).

I don't know about in Calgary, but Shoppers DrugMart here in Nova Scotia has NHL barstools.
Unfortunately only Toronto, but according to the box they have all Canadian teams. I'd assume they'd have the Flames in your neck of the woods.
On a side note I didn't know to laugh or cry at the begining of the playoffs walking into Shoppers and seeing only Montreal and Toronto merchandice. 6 Canadian teams and they are only selling stuff for 2 of them that didn't make the playoffs!

I wouldn't spend too much and worrying about them lasting. Bar stools are usually only good for the place you're living at (color, style, height, etc). Otherwise if you move and the next people don't buy em - you're stuck trying to sell them in the Bargain finder for 50% less than what you paid for em.

Hank Scorpio: Uh, hi, Homer. What can I do for you?
Homer: Sir, I need to know where I can get some business barstools
Hank Scorpio: barstools? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? barstools! Homer, there's four places. There's the bartsool Hut, that's on third.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Hank Scorpio: There's barstools-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There.
Homer: Mm-Hmm.
Hank Scorpio: That's on third. swivel Low, Sweet Chariot... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the barstool complex on third.
Homer: Oh, the barstool district!
Hank Scorpio: That's right.
