Default Office Question - Multiple TV 1 Signal ?

Hello

We just moved offices and have 4 fancy LCD TVs. Initially all they thought they wanted was just basic coax cable or Internet access so only coax lines and Cat5E lines were run.

Now they want all 4 TVs to be able show the same HD signal. Has anyone had any experience with this. Would this be something that Shaw or Telus offers?

Thanks

I think you can run HD signals over Cat5E...

You'll need some extra hardware at the receiver though...

Or put a HD receiver at each TV...

I'm sure a more tech savvy guy will chime in soon...

Coaxial can definitely handle HD signals. You can get HD over the Air, and than comes into the TV by Coaxial.

You'll need two cat5e cables to each location to run HDMI over ethernet. You'll also need a splitter for the HDMI signal.

If each room has coax, maybe the shaw gateway would work. You'd have to change channels on each one manually, but could all be tuned to the same feed.

A splitter probably won't work, what you need is a powered switch and than run 24 gauge HDMI cables. Something like this cheap one. More expensive ones may be better and monoprice has a good selection.

Cat5e cables can also work but I've never tried that setup.

Lower down on this page are some HDMI extenders using Cat5e or Cat6.

Just found this after a quick search. Like the old RF modulators we used to use for hooking stuff up in the 80's but made for HD.

Edit: Found pricing - pretty expensive, but neat concept for the right environment...

My bad. I use the term splitter for switches as well.
