To clarify: since this is a short test with limited options as most of you pointed out, if you scored less than 65% on either side in any individual categories, you are probably a centrist on that catergory. Also, it'd be more accurate if you just go with your first gut instinct instead of analyzing the answers too much. Read it once and pick your answers right away, don't think about it!
Your Political Profile:

i found that my answers skewed liberal when presented with only the two options per question, where i would normally have chosen something in between the two extremes on most of the questions
For example,
3. Gay marriage
Should be legal and given the same rights as heterosexual marriage.
Should not be legal. Marriage is between a man and a woman.
I feel that gay marriage shouldn't be marriage, per se, but something should come with all the benefits of a regular marriage (civil union with increased benefits, etc)
7. Carrying a gun is:
Taking responsibility for one's own defense, and admirable
Dangerous and sketchy
I think carrying a gun is your call. It's in the US Constitution and therefore, if you've got the permits and know how to use it, you're fine, but if you're gonna get a gun through less-than-legal means and screw around with it (as the dangerous minorities do), then it's a problem. I also think that the US letting the assault weapons ban run out is beyond stupid.
19. The problem with the US justice system is:
Too many plea bargains and loose interpretations of law
Not enough rehabilitation and prisoner's rights
The answer is somewhere in the middle. Obviously if repeat offenders are getting out with very little time served, there's something seriously wrong, and on top of that, people like OJ Simpson, Robert Blake, etc. that are clearly 100% guilty are getting off scott free. That's the problem with the United States' criminal justice system. Prisons are just revolving doors where criminals learn how to be better criminals.
Just my opinions, but I think the test should have had an "Answer is somewhere in the middle" option for the questions.

I really don't like those questions, they seem to me as though they are just taking the most radical standpoints on a certain issue, and not giving any more options. I don't really know if that is the best way in which one can really gain a deeper insight into the workings of someones mind. For instance with question 20, there are a great number of problems with all justice systems and to just pick two seems to be more than a bit foolish to myself. I mean I think that both are significant problems, but just voting for a single option deminishes the other option by nature, so you could have 99% of the population saying people not having to serve time for offences and only 1% saying that rehabilitation is an issue, resulting in most everyone coming to the conclusion that rehabilitation isn't an issue on the minds of the population. But without further adeu my results are as follows:
Your Political Profile
Overall: 70% Conservative, 30% Liberal
Social Issues: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
Personal Responsibility: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal

I'm pretty consistent on these sort of tests. Always just left of centre.

And this one...
2. Immigration policies
Should be less strict. Immigrants enhance this country.
Should be more strict. Too many people enter illegally.
That's pretty tough. I voted for "less strict" because obviously people moving here is good for the country but that doesn't mean I'm all for illegal immigration.
