Default Junior B hockey in Calgary

Not sure if anyone on the forum can help me out, but I thought I would try. I can't get ahold of anyone in the Junior B office.

I'm looking to do a story on the up-coming Junior B playoffs and I'm curious how their playoff format works. The top two teams seem to have a bye right now. I'm just wondering the logistics of it all. The website doesn't have the playoffs branched off, just the schedules, so I'm not sure if it is a best of 5? or 7?

Could someone drop me a line if they happen to know?

Thanks

Based on the standings and schedule, it appears the top six teams make the playoffs, with the top two (CRAA Gold and CRAA Blue) getting byes. 3v6 and 4v5 in the first round, which appear to be scheduled as best of five series.

It's a good thing that I don't deal with numbers. I have no idea why something like that would need to be laid out of a playoff grid for me to understand.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain it

I know that there are five games, but apparently it is first to 5/6 points. Does anyone know which it is?

first to 6, but no OT so games can end tied, if 5 points each at end of series they play a OT period first goal advances i believe.

Thanks.
So even if one team was to win the last game to make both teams have 5 points, it would go to an OT period?

Default CJHL Junior B Allstar Game

Saturday Febuary 6th, 2010 Stu Peppard Arena. Not sure about the time and will post later for those interested. Should be interesting with a similar skill level to a regular season Jr A game. Beer Gardens and usually full stands and has a great feel. Post Time Later not sure

The Jungle B league, hockey doesnt get much dirtier than that league, within Alberta at least! I guess the Jungle C League could give them a run.

Jr c is no where near as dirty as Jr b since fighting gets you kicked out of the game in Jr c

You get kicked out of the game in Calgary Jr B too, maybe the Heritage league is different but you always used to get kicked out there as well.
