Default Best place to buy Fitness Equipment?

In 2009 I bought an upright stationary bike from "Fitness Depot" for $500. Worst purchase I ever made. It was okay for the first year, but as soon as the warranty was over, it broke down. And FD would charge $150 + parts for service. And then it would break down every 3 months. After the fourth breakdown, I just gave up on the darn thing. Having spent about as much on service calls as I did on the initial purchase, I'm reluctant to purchase another bike in case I get another lemon.

Is there any place that has a better warranty or less expensive service department?

One friend suggested that I NOT buy from a store... for that initial $450 I could have purchased 3 or 4 bikes off kijiji from those well-intentioned new-years-resolution people that are willing to sell their bikes for a fraction of what they spent on them.

If you wait a few more weeks all the New Years fitness fanatics will start to sell off their resolution purchases...

You could score a great deal on some hardly used gear....

Yep.

And about a week after the ride to conquer cancer there is a swath of high end road bikes in a buyers market on Kijiji as well.

If you are interested in some cycle action, why not consider a wind trainer. If you already have a decent quality bike.

Im not sure buying fitness machines make sense. To get gym quality machines you need to spend between 3 and 5 grand for that much money you can get a gym membership for 5 to 10 years and hav access to more that 1 machine.

From reading reviews of fitness machines there doesnt seem to much difference between cheap and non cheap home quality machines. So i woukd just buy cheap and used. Also fix your own machine as much as possible.

I'm currently do 7 weeks to 100 push ups (Started Monday). After that I'll be doing 7 weeks to 50 pull ups. I just need to find a good leg workout.

Why not get a gym membership? Sure it will be more convenient with a exercise bike and get a workout at home, but you're only limited to one type of cardio workout.
