Some of the recommendations are actually pretty good. Talking about that 500+ page report released today.
They have to do something. Unlike Alberta, they don't have the energy industry to allow them to spend money like drunken fools.

Norm!

That's the second report like this that I've seen recently the other one involved how bad things were getting in Quebec.

As much as people hated Mike Harris, I think he made a lot of necessary cuts in the province. I don't think we are going anywhere better with a guy like McGuinty as premier.

So anything that looks good and is automatically a waste of money? You must lead a sad life.
If it was an Excel chart, half the people wouldnt be able to read it, and the other half wouldn't even bother.

Indeed, I found it actually rather interesting - certainly gives the big picture at a quick glance but also allows further digging to see how the money is spent/gotten. But then again, I like that sort of thing/numbers.

They probably spent a pretty penny on that report that was released today. And it is absolutely worth it. Government should have outside reviews like that done all the time. Even if it costs.

Did I miss something? Where did he say it was a waste of money?
And why the need to throw an insult in there?

The National Post just won an award as the best designed newspaper in the world. I think the graphic is from them.

And even though we have the energy resources to spend like drunken fools, our government needs to get its act straight to avoid having this scenario loom in our future.

I posted in the other thread about the Alberta PCs that Alberta needs to have a review like this done to figure out what is actually going on.
I have a hard time believing that they can constantly increase spending and actually know how well the money is being spent.

Like the Grapes of Wrath. . . . .
All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again.

All that money spent on a chart with mistakes. That expenses versus revenues for the 2009-2101 year is sure interesting.
Also, who says 108,789 million? why not say 109.787 billion. Are decimals too hard? (Especially when right next to it they use a decimal to say it's 335.9 million higher, why not just say 335,900 thousand higher if that's how you're doing it?)

While being in the red is not a good thing, it's not the end of the world. They make it sound like there is no way to recover, but the truth is, there are numerous areas where they can cut to save. It's not like it isn't a province that doesn't have revenue coming in. It's a wake up call though. I think the province has temporarily hit its carrying capacity.

I didn't say that at all. I thought it was a great chart.
