Default Biggest Aussie Musical Group Breaking Up

Sad Really

Quote:
Three members of the children's music quartet The Wiggles will be hanging up their colourful outfits and leaving the Australian band this year, with the Blue Wiggle the lone original member left dancing.
Jeff Fatt (Purple Wiggle), Murray Cook (Red Wiggle) and Greg Page (Yellow Wiggle) will leave after the group wraps up a Celebration Tour that begins this month and ends in Australia in December, the band said in a statement Thursday.

They were named Australia's richest entertainers by Business Review Weekly (BRW) for four years in a row (2004–2008), and earned A$45 million in 2009, when they were third on BRW's annual list.[3] In 2011, the worldwide recession hit The Wiggles, as it had done most Australian entertainers; they earned $28 million, but still appeared second on the BRW's list that year

Pretty sure AC/DC is the biggest musical act from Australia. Of course don't tell an Aussie that; that's like saying Fosters is the best beer in the country.

Tell them it could be worse. At least it's not Celine Dion or Justin Bieber.

Wasn't Savage Garden an Aussie band? That has to rank up there too.

Yes and no. I think they were, but they were a total one album wonder.

Loved Midnight Oil, love Silverchair, AC/CD is obviously as classic as it gets. Seen all three of them.

As for the Wiggles, well hell I've seen them live too... Glad I don't have to do that anymore.

Agree with these three. Would also add Cold Chisel to that list. One of my favorite bands of all time.
