Why would they meet there and not at the other person's place?

So nobody has to do any backtracking/running all over the city picking a bunch of people up.

It's a good meeting place when you're aiming for an early start. When one person lives in the SW and the other in the NE, meeting at the other person's place isn't always convenient.

I was just talking about this this past weekend. We settled on a meeting spot for carpoolers, but I've never had anyone actually suggest to me to meet there. It's always packed there.

The car pool thing was my best guess but it seems the road is full even on weekdays and on weekends we typically get really early starts and its still (or already) packed. So i figured somehing else might be up.

It's a meeting spot for secret sex parties as well.

Deja vu thread, aka fata.

I'm too lazy to look up the original to prove it.

Carry on.

So it's like Chicken on the Way for people who live in the Burbs/satellite communities?

I've heard that a land owner wants that practice to stop because of the volume of cars that are there, especially on weekends.

I can't find any info on this, but I think I heard about it on the news a couple of months back.

I've eaten at that Humpty's twice, both times the service and food were great. High praise from a former employee

I was thinking about this last weekend on my way back from Canmore. That place is always packed. I thought maybe it was people stopping to bicylce out to the mountains, but it's packed on snowy days too.

(Yes I know, some of you are so manly you bicycle across antartica to get to work, but there wouldn't be 100+ cars doing that every day...)

Definitely odd.

Wife and I had concluded that it was a pick up/drop off spot for the workers at the mill near Cochrane.

I've left my car there for the day when going out to Kananaskis with coworkers - we drove there and then took a handful of vehicles the rest of the way.
