Default Shaw PVR expander

I need to get a new one of these since my one from ME crapped out. The picture of the one at Shaw, is the black one with the yellow circle on it. The ones they've had since thebeginning. Visions, BB, FS etc all have a white 1 tb Iomega expander, with a 3 year mfg warranty.

My question is, if the thing dies, what do I have to do for replacement. Send it to Iomega? If the Shaw one dies, someone will come to your house and replace it, which seems pretty easy except for the fact you have to be home when they show up.

Or you could take it in to a Shaw building when you feel like going.

The Shaw expander is a bit better than the other ones you might pick up at memory express, because it doesn't just use passive cooling. I picked mine up on sale for $50 a year or so ago, and aside from the slightly larger footprint it has been good.

Oh and just an FYI, not sure about the ME one but the Shaw one you cannot change it from box to box. If you try and move it to a new box you have to reformat it and will lose all your recordings.

That will happen with all external HD's regardless of make/model.

I went to a SHaw retail outlet and they gave me an Iomega one with 3 years warranty anyways.
