Honest it was NOT me!!!!!

The real question is why?

Contestants in a traditional British cheese rolling competition broke bones and took skin off knees and elbows Monday in their pursuit of a giant piece of cheese down a steep hill.

Cheesy contest

I remember reading about this in previous years--pretty crazy event. One year, a few of the onlookers sustained serious injuries when a round of cheese went off-course and headed into a crowd. One person had broken ribs from being hit by the cheese, another got some serious injuries when he dove off an embankment out of the way of the cheese.

Teenager Chris Anderson, who won one of four cheese rolling races contested Monday, was taken to hospital on a stretcher, clutching his winning slab of cheese to his chest.
This, coupled with the picture meant a coffee shower for my keyboard.......i'm still laughing...

I have seen this event of TV before. It was on some sort of highlight package or World's Wildest Sports shows. It was abosolutely hilarious!

Something about tons of people going full steam down a steep hill after a huge wheel of cheese. Once they start going to fast to control it there is mass chaos. Bodies flying everywhere.

It is like an extremem version of MXC. Way too funny.

I've seen this on TV as well and it was truly nuts. Not surprisingly, there were many many beer tents at the event. It rivals those crazy Japanese dudes who ride the giant log down the hill and try to hang on. Nutso man, nutso.
