Question Lots of Emergency Vehicles This Morning on 6th Ave/10 St. Approximately.

Does anyone know why there were so many emergency vehicles on 6th Ave around 10th/11 street this morning?

I only got a brief look as I drove past but there was quite a few police cars with lights on, fire trucks and even a mobile commander center for the CPS.

Curious to know what was going on.

Man, that's like the worst place to cut traffic down to one lane . . . Especially on a day like this. Although not much you can do.

Walking through the +15's helps pass the time; just catch your bus on 8th street; at least the buses are almost clear of the traffic snarl.

I walked by the court building around 5pm and they still had a sign that it was down to 1 lane and traffic was extra nasty.

I could understand shutting down 6th Ave for a natural gas leak, but for a carbon monoxide leak? Really?

Here is an article from earlier this week about the flooding that caused the whole mess.

Due to the levels of water still in the building , residents of the Marquis building (1108 – 6th Ave SW) will not be allowed to reoccupy their suites tonight. The Calgary Fire Department, Calgary Emergency Management Agency, Canada Task Force 2, Animal & Bylaw Services and EMS remain on scene. Fellow City services including Water Services, Development & Building Approvals, Roads and Calgary Police Service were all onsite throughout the day working to resolve the situation.

Access on 6th Avenue at 10th Street is still restricted to two lanes and will remain so through the Thursday morning commute.
