Legal Grow Op Busted

A local grow op for medicinal marijuana was busted in Calgary. Reading over this it seems like there is so many things that are wrong with this setup. I am not opposed to contracted people growing pot for medicinal purposes but it is done very wrong.

First off the city should be aware of where these are. This is just asking for them to be busted and shut down when they do not need to be.
Second they should not be in a house. It is very documented that grow ops make houses inhabitable. I think that they should be in a greenhouse type place or a properly built warehouse sort of building. What makes this worse is that there were people living in this house including children.

Overall this entire process needs to be reviewed and redone.

That's just dumb. Give people a license to grow marijuana, but then don't regulate or supervise the operation in any way or coordinate with law enforcement?

The guy they mentioned that had recently died was an old school buddy of mine. I hadn't talked to him in 20 years and had no idea that he was a licensed pot grower. He died tragically in another grow house operation and left behind a beautiful family.

legal grow ops can be done safely, and without wrecking the house. This guy was obviously ignorant or just plain stupid.

The police said that these guys should be worried about organized crime breaking in to their operations - I would be more worried about meathead cops busting in with guns ablazing.
