Ok, before I sent in a request to have Nabokov's name corrected can someone fill me in on the "John" joke so maybe I can laugh along and keep it.... otherwise it'll annoy the hell out of me

There was a brief time when he decided to go by John. Not sure why or why he decided to go back to Evgeni.
