Space, Bravo, BNN, Discovery and Animal Planet HD Coming to Shaw
December 15th. It will be nice to have Discovery HD back.

SO happy the actual Discovery HD is finally here. Bell has mismanaged that channel terribly. There were times where a Discovery HD show would be advertised on Discovery World HD, but then you'd have to watch the show in SD.

Well they've done an awful job distributing it then. It wasn't on Bell when I had their service 3 years ago.

Space HD? Hopefully it doesn't constantly click and snap while I watch Star Trek like the SD channel does.

Space HD even has the old Star Trek in 16x9. It may not be HD but the picture is very good.

Setanta HD is now Sportsnet World HD, it's on free preview until Jan. 3 on Bell.

Definitely excited, but if it has the same sound problems that the SD channel has then I will be somewhat pissed.

Going to be completely honest: this is the best Christmas present I could get this year. We watch discovery and space a ton and having them in glorious HD will be awesome.

Yeah, Bell should really get their stuff together. There is no reason why they can't offer a channel 2.5 years before it is available.

Perhaps slightly off topic, but I have given up on Setanta/Sportsnet World and I have gone with premierleaguelive.tv instead. It costs about the same as SNW, you get all of the non-TSN Premier League games live (8-9 a week), it is presented in 16:9, and the quality is miles above SNW SD on Shaw, although not true HD. But close.
I hook up my laptop or my Boxee to the TV and I'm good to go. Most of my team's games (Norwich) aren't live on TV anyway, and I'd rather not wait for the game on tape delay on SNW. So I get better quality, live vs. delayed, and the price is the same. I'm not even sure that I'd switch back to SNW even if Shaw ever does offer it in HD.
