Interesting night away in Southern Alberta - any ideas?
My husband and I are going away for one night coming up. I'm tired of the same old hotels. Any ideas for someplace really neat, not too far from Calgary? Something like a treehouse in the forest, an underwater bubble, a luxury tipi...that sort of thing. If anyone has advice I would be grateful! Thanks in advance.

Drive East to Dinosaur Provincial Park. That place is incredible. Go on some tours and find some fossils.

Thanks so much for these great tips. I can't believe how many totally cool options there are nearby! We're going to book Rafter 6 / Sundance Lodges based on their availability and Newcastle Country Inn with our kids later that week for a Dinosaur Park excursion. Can't wait. Thanks again!!

Come to Medicine Hat! You can swear at old people driving cars and gaze at the majestic rent-an-olympic-teepee! Afterwards, one can simultaneously hate anyone who has ever been near Saskatchewan and cheer on the apparently local Roughriders!
Yeehaw.

Calgary location is, sure. Which is why the OP should get out of town, and check out the basement of the Chicken on the Way in lovely Cluny.

Next time I visit Calgary I'm stopping at Chicken on the Way. I don't care if there's greasy events going on down there, as long as the food isn't as greasy as what goes on in the basement, I'll be satisfied.

That was closed a long time ago... My in laws have a cabin at the hidden valley resort and thought we would try it out. Nothing better than eating the chicken and having to share a bathroom with 5 people....
