Default DC Universe Online - Anyone in the beta? Worth trying?

I got a beta key for it (launches on the 11th), but it's a 14GB download Anyone in the beta or try it yet? Impressions? Worth the download?

I'd like to give it a shot but I know precious little about it.

My last beta experience was Bad Company, and that was fantastic...

May I ask how you acquired a beta key?

Greg Miller from IGN seems to be in love. The impressions I heard are that it's not like a hardcore MMO and that it's quite enjoyable. He's a crazy comic guy though. The premise is pretty solid imo. That is a crazy size download though.

I played the beta and I was impressed with the gameplay, I enjoyed it alot more once I connected my xbox controller. Think of it as what City of Heroes should have been. I didn't play much but I know there was a low level cap (40 I believe) and according to other testers the focus was supposed to be on end game but I never made it that far. All in all if you are a fan I would give it a shot.

I played it for about an hour, then uninstalled. It felt bland and boring. It could get better if I stuck with it, but I don't have the time to grind until it gets fun.

I think the Beta actually ends today.

It's much more action oriented. I'd even go as far as saying it feels like a persistent dungeon crawler. I like it, buying it on day 1.

You have three months in which you can abuse your bandwidth as much as possible.

Anyone get this on the PS3? Just wondering how the controls translate over as it looks like a mouse would be a better fit. I would imagine there's a monthly fee to play the PS3 version. Can anyone confirm?

The monthly fee is still there for PS3, 14.99/month.

It actually fits the controller very well. This game, much moreso than any other MMO I've played, feels like an action/adventure rpg or dungeon crawler. The combat is fast paced and more geared towards reflex speed vs. ability to queue up attacks.

I'm playing this with my brother and we're having a lot of fun so far. Lots to like in this one, especially if you are a comic book fan and know what's up with the DC Universe.

My other brother, however, bought the game (PS3) when he was out of town and managed to lose his activation code before he could load the game when he got home. Anybody have any ideas how we can get my bro playing without him having to purchase the game brand new for a 2nd time?

What kind of ideas did you have in mind??? You want someone to give you a code? or maybe a magical key generator?
