Starcraft II CP Tournament

Alright, time to get this much talked about tourney on the road to actually happening!

If you are interested post here and post the league you are in. If we get enough people, hopefully we can do a tourney for each division as to avoid Bronze vs Diamond games.

Otherwise, I'll just randomly draw the matches to make this work. I'll work out the format after I see how many are interested.

Also, how many people would be interested in creating a CP league, set up games between people and keep a points standing for s and giggles! Feed back on this would be nice.

Edit: I am going for a round, even number so I will likely cap it at 16, but if there is a lot of interest we may have to do it World Cup style with groups.

Edit3: 17 entrants, 18 if Lawyerfishman says he is game. We either need to pare down two people (last two entrants) or get two more and do a round-robin style opening. I think we can find to more, but I am hard capping this at 20 and giving it a few days to find two more players. After that Sorry Hades and Mr.Plow, but we'll have to get you next time

Don't hack. Hacking will result in immediate ejection and public hazing.

During the round robin, you are allowed one disconnect without it counting as a loss. After that, all games disconnected from will count as a loss. In the brackets stage a disconnect counts as a loss unless it is a deciding game. Both of these are ignored if you were losing or likely going to lose anyways or if they happen after the first 20 minutes.

Try and find a third party observer, preferably someone not in the tournament (Hack&Lube has volunteered). If it is someone in the tourney, then oh well but I'd prefer it not to be!

Winner must post a replay of the game. In the brackets round only a replay of them deciding game has to be posted. (SCreplays works for this). This is mostly to make sure there's no match throwing or anything like that. I don't really expect it, but I also figure that it'd be fun to watch some of the replays by better players for those wanting to get better.

During round robin each player will play each other once. The round robin will be followed my a regular bracket style tournament. Round robin wins will award two points. The top two players in each group will advance. In the event of a tie we will use the combined points scores from all four games with the higher score advancing(keep track of your scores!).

Top player from group A plays lower from group B and Top B plays Low A. Same for C and D.

In the round robin each match between players will have a map assigned for that game. In the elimination stage all series will be best 2 of 3 with the maps being randomly chosen for the first and if needed third game. Loser of the first game may choose the second map.

If there is anything you feel I missed then just let me know and I'll fix it up. Schedule and groups for the round robin will be up soonish!
RULE CHANGE:
THE TOP THREE IN EACH GROUP, UP FROM TOP TWO, WILL NOW ADVANCE TO THE SECOND ROUND. THE SEEDING REMAINS THE SAME EXCEPT NOW THE TOP PLAYER FROM EACH GROUP GETS A BY AND 2ND IN GROUP A PLAYS 3RD IN GROUP C SO ON AND SO FORTH ETC ETC.

I think bonus points should be awarded to a player that beats a player in a higher ranked division.

If for some reason I can orchestrate a power outage at Blaster's house mid-match and win, I think that should just be included as a legitimate SC2 strat.

Well, in a tourney winning means advancing to the next round so points are moot but if we did do a league, then that would definitely be a rule.

Anything is about a week away from starting since I still need to figure out what format, and do all the draws. I think it is going to be a multi-day thing to allow for schedules. I think trying to do it all in one or two days is foolhardy.
