Thumbs down Fire near Springbank Airport Aug 27
When leaving house earlier this afternoon it looked like a huge fire & smoke (black & white/grey) close to or vicinity of Springbank Airport.

Any news yet actually what has happened?

The last time I freaked out about a huge fire near Springbank airport, people from Cochrane said it was a common controlled acreage fire. (Those huge piles of wood and brush that you see accumulated and farms to be set on fire).

660AM mentioned the fire / smoke cause traffic issues on highway 1 in the area but didn't mention anything else.

Thanks for insight of possible controlled acreage fire.

Doubtful. There's a full fire ban in Rocky View County. All burn permits are void right now.
