I'll preface this post by saying that espy is client of mine but I thought it was an interesting event they are hosting that might be of interest to some of the guys on here. It's also for great cause as all donations stay in Calgary for the Calgary Prostate Cancer Centre.

#nakedespy is a prostate cancer fundraiser with all donations going to the Calgary Prostate Cancer Center.

On Saturday, November 5, 2011 if you are one of the first 50 guys to line up in your underwear and make a donation to the CPCC, you will receive $500 of clothes for FREE and time with espy’s fashion stylists. If you are part of the second 50 in line in your underwear, you get $300 of clothes for FREE!

You can get more information on the event here: http://espyexperience.com/nakedespy-faq/

I did it last year. It was pretty awesome. I'm not in town this year though.

Pretty cool event, thanks for posting, my only question and i guess it's a chance for me to be more learned. Why prostate cancer? Isn't it already one of the least deadly forms of cancer?

To be honest, I'm not sure why they chose prostate cancer.

The store doesn't have a lot of events exclusively for men so it could be as simple as they wanted to host an event for men and decided to pair it with a cause that was exclusive to men.

I guess we guys are pretty "lucky" in that the cancers that are pretty much male specific, ie prostate and testicular have by far some of the highest survival rates.

It's all tied in with Movember.

Prostate cancer has a high survival rate but it also has a very high rate of incidence. The high survival rate also relies on people being open about the disease and seeking proper treatment. Something men aren't the best at.

I think it just coincides with Movember as opposed to being tied to it. There's no official affiliation between the two.

It's also more of a challenge to stand outside a store in your underwear in November than in September when it's prostate awareness month in Canada.

I won a contest earlier in the summer through Espy, with a little help from CP... I have to say, regardless the fact that I was getting free clothes, it was a great experience shopping there. The staff there made sure I was comfortable with what I was picking up, made sure it fit, and as a guy... I have to say that it's always nice to have good looking women tell you clothes look good on you.

I know they work in a clothing store, and that's their "job", but they asked me what I wanted/needed. What my likes were, what I'm comfortable wearing. The attention was great. I will have to head down there soon and spend some money this time.

I highly recommend the store, #nakedespy or not.

Man, If I wasn't stuck south of the border, I'd be all over this like a fat kid on smarties. Such a great idea and cause, I really respect how all out they go. For a small business like that to give away over 40K worth of clothes that's an impressive turnout.

(P.s. Congrats on the site K-Train)
