Surprised I didn't see a thread about this. The opening ceremonies are in 2.5 hours. I'm really hoping they have some good Diablo III information, and most importantly, an actual release date.
It's expected they'll announce the next WoW expansion, likely called "Mists of Pandaria". If that's the case, it'll be interesting to see how they integrate Pandaren into WoW.
New 12-month WoW subscription, if purchased, will give you Diablo 3 for free and access to the next WoW expansion beta, AND the WoW mount Tyrael's Charger which is both ground and flying and will scale with your riding skill from ground-only and 60% speed to ground and flying 310% speed.

For the SCII fans out there, the GSL finals are being held tonight at Blizzcon I believe. As well some top Brood War players are showing up, which is kinda cool.
With Skyrim coming out + X Rebirth and now the new hockey OOTP project coming out sometime in 2012 I won't have time for any blizzard games anyway! Dota2 as well potentially.
I think WoW is just dying a slow death and has been for a bit. It will stick around as there doesn't really seem to be any alternative that is head and shoulders above but its time is definitely coming.
I saw on another website which shall remain unnamed that there was a new expansion coming out and they called it Mists of Pandara... I was sure it was a joke. Wow... Talk about a new low. Glad I quit when I did and can enjoy my memories of WoW without the ######ed kung-fu pandas.
I don't think Blizzard is dying any kind of death slow or otherwise. I think a lot of people will enjoy the new WoW expansion even if others find it goofy. I know some people are up in arms about the direction of Diablo 3 but I am certain it will still be a great game and a wild success critically and in terms of sales. Starcraft 2 is a gigantic success in every measurable way and will likely remain such until the end of its run.
Also, Project Titan has the potential to be absolutely enormous... and will likely continue Blizzard's dominion over the MMO genre.

I was at blizzcon, I had a really good time watching the GSL finals, I was a bit peeved by the Blizzcon invitationals though as it was pretty obvious that NesTea threw the match.
Best news out of Blizzcon is the new Zerg units really have an awesome Zerg feel to them. Makes me feel like I should start playing Starcraft again to get decent before the expansion comes out (between now and...like 30 years from now, knowing Blizzard)

funny you mention that, they were asked when HotS was going to be released, and their answer was "Soon.... which probably means 2024 for us...."

Tried out HotS, and D3.
Nice, how was playing HotS? Did the new units seem to change game play a lot?
And LGA go to channel CPuck sometime to play a few pickup games if you're interested...there's a few of us still playing fairly regularly.

some of the new units really scare me, it'll be really difficult to balance. The replicator is one example (protoss units that allow copying of opponent units and it gets all the upgrades as well), the shredder (terran unit that has AOE effect attack once it's activated). The Nexus now casts mass recall (you can no longer drop on protoss bases basically cause they can just recall their army).

Banelings got the ability to move while they are burrowed, which could add a lot of cheese factor for Zerg.
I'll have to hop on the CP channel for sure, but maybe after a few warmup games first.
