Default Foldable Headphones - Best Ones For <$100

I'm looking for some foldable headphones to use for listening to my iPod at work. I prefer closed ear type (no open air designs up for consideration). They need to be foldable so they can be packed in a backpack for the trip home.

I currently use Sony MDR-V300 non-foldable type but they are taking a beating in my backpack.

I took back my $350 Beats by Dre Studios for a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50s after some strong recommendations from the folks at head-fi.org. They're one of the best purchases I've made in the last few years, they're that good.

Also - I abuse the crap out of these. They're very durable.

I found recertified ones for $105. I guarantee you won't find anything near as good as these for that price.

How long did it take to arrive? Did you get straight or coiled cord? Any customs fees?

I bought mine full price ($210 I think) at Long & McQuade locally. I should have shopped around.

The folks at redflagdeals have been buying from the retailer I sent you the link to. You can read about their experiences here:

Some got them as soon as 5 days after ordering.

I got the straight cord just because I don't like the look of the coil very much. Be aware that the straight cord is noticeably longer than the cord on your average pair of headphones. I've got my cord partially wrapped up beneath my laptop stand.

Sennheiser PX-100 ii's are by far the best quality you'll find at that price point.

I have a pair and they are absolutely fantastic. Foldable, comfortable and sound great.

I recently bought some monoprice foldable headphones for around $20. Was already placing an order and $20 is cheap enough to give it a shot. They sound slightly better than my iPhone headphones which is disappointing, but not surprising.

What are these like for sound leaking and isolation? I listen at an office so I need to be able to hear if someone is talking to me and if the phone is ringing. Also I don't want too much noise to leak out either.

AKG k26p! Small enough to be portable, closed and with great sound quality!

Leakage was one of the main reasons I returned the Beats. Nearly zero sound leaks out of these.

With music paused or at low volume, you'd be able to hear a phone ringing with these on no problem. I think you'll have a hard time finding headphones with very little sound leakage but still let you hear a phone ringing with music on at a high volume.
