Found some in superstore - really taking a shine to it!

Was wondering if anyone else has tried the 'drink of the gods' or had any interesting recipes to share! (I've heard that a iced-mate is absolutely unbelievable!)

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

I drink it all the time. It has a slightly narcotic effect inthat it numbs your mouth a bit. It's a little addictive. I recommend buying a traditional mate gourd to drink it out of with the metal straw. It's just really classy that way

You know, I think I may have been addicted to this stuff once...

A number of years ago, I had a site trip to Brazil that lasted for two weeks, and it was at a control center for a pipeline marine terminal. There was this guy there, whose sole purpose in life was to ride a beat up old bicycle around the terminal, and deliver coffe to all of the employees. The Brazilian version of coffee is much stronger than ours, it is more like expresso, and is served in expresso sized shots. When the Brazilians came to our office in Calgary they referred to our coffee as dish water. Many of the locals add a ton of sugar to it to the point it is like syrup, and many of them will grap two or even three of these shots whenever CoffeeBoy came around. A week into the trip I was grabbing two of these incredible coffees whenever the guy came around, and was really falling in love with the sight of that man! I was getting agitated when he was late.

It turns out the coffee was a gateway drug to something much more powerful: a cold tea that had you zinging along with a much better buzz (not as jittery) than the coffee. I thought it was Guarana, but after reading the links about the Guaranian Indians, maybe its the same stuff. I will be picking up some for a try to see if it brings back memories of my coffee boy.

I am also a yerba mate tea drinker. My (now ex-) girlfriend and I discovered it helped me A LOT in the, um, bedroom.

Youknowhatimsayin.

And not only that, but it tastes great and has an awesome calming effect.

But who I am kidding, it's the aphrodisiac qualities that keep me drinking the stuff.
