Figured now was a good time to start this up. Some good news from 'Arry today:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...dknapp?cc=5901

Quote:
Ahead of the play-off draw at 12.30pm on Friday, Redknapp has revealed he will use the opportunity to give his youngsters a run-out in order to rest his star names.

"The young lads will get plenty of games in the Europa League because otherwise I think it's a killer, to be frank," Redknapp told the Sun. "Thursday and Sunday every week - a nightmare. You've got no chance in the Premier League with that, it kills you off.

"We will give those boys like Jake Livermore and Andros Townsend experience and see how we go. We've loaned a few young players out but we are going to keep a few behind and give them the chance to play in the European competition."

ya the squad depth will help a lot

Rose/BAE can rotate at LB
Daws/King/Gallas/Kaboul/Bassong at CB
Corluka/Walker at RB

Bale/Townsend/Kranjcar
Modric/Sandro/Hudd/Jenas/Palacios/Diarra (hopefully)/Livermore/Kranjcar/VdV etc. at CM
Lennon/Pienaar/Bentley

Defoe/Pav/Crouch/Keane

and that's at the moment, they can still sell off some of the dead weight and bring in some upgrades at striker and have a ton of depth

people saying that the Europa will hurt them qualifying for top 4 are wrong. It will only hurt if Harry doesn't use squad rotation which it sounds like he is.

Bale/VdV/Modric/Lennon etc. shouldn't play a Europa game at all until February if they get there

not even throwing out a weak squad

any 2 strikers
Townsend/Jenas/Livermore/Pienaar
Rose/Bassong/Kaboul/Walker
Gomes

is more than good enough to get to the semifinals of the Europa league

I've been reading a lot of bloggers and football sites that are speculating Modric to Chelsea. As a Spurs fan, I hope it doesn't happen. However, as a Croat, I wouldn't mind.

Do you think a transfer would be worth it?

Spurs still really need to get a world class striker in order to have a chance at the top 4 this year.

If they could get a true target man, somebody like Edinson Cavani out of Napoli, they would be a force next season.

If they were willing to pay $35-$40 million plus Daniel Sturridge I don't think I would be that opposed to it.

it's too late for anything to happen that helps Spurs, Levy isn't going to sell anyway

and now that Modric knows stuff isn't happening he is backtracking, his agent came out this week and said he never handed in a transfer request

I think Levy basically told him it's a no go until at least January, if they aren't in shouting distance of the top 4 he will move him

different situation than Fabregas who can get cup tied so he either goes in the next few weeks or not until next summer, Modric won't be cup tied for anything

Tottenham target Bryan Ruiz has revealed that Spurs have approached his agent about a possible move to White Hart Lane from FC Twente.

The Costa Rican striker has a release clause of €15 million (£13.7m) and has caught the eye of Harry Redknapp as he seeks a return to the top four and the Champions League.

The Spurs boss has been linked with Giuseppe Rossi, Mirko Vucinic and Fernando Llorente this summer, and now looks to be keen on Ruiz.

"They have approached my agent,” Ruiz told NUsport, “but I have yet to really discuss the interest with him.

“I was told about Spurs' interest two days ago [on Friday]. Spurs are a great club and I'd be honoured to play alongside Rafael van der Vaart.

“I'd say that the chance that I'll leave Twente is 50 per cent.”

33 goals in 61 games for Twente, 6'2

Not really the CF that Spurs are looking for though, most reports state that he is deployed as an attacking RW in Twentes 4-3-3.

Might make sense as a replacement for Lennon though if they are seriously thinking of swapping him to Man City for Adebayor.

ya from what I have read he plays like Suarez

I still don't think Lennon leaves but he would be good cover on the wings and offer some goals from there and could potentially play up front

I would be happy with New Striker, Defoe, Pav, Ruiz (cover at CF and RW/LW)

supposedly there is some type of swap deal with Crouch and Rodwell that could happen sometime soon as well

I thought Moyes was smart

Rodwell is going to be a stud

Never really liked Adebayor but he should be a good fit with Spurs, since really anything is better then what they had last season.

Looks like the Keane transfer is done: http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/cl...voiceofthesite

At this point in career, I'd say it's a good move.

Adebayor should be announced by friday

also the Lass Diarra stuff is supposedly very very close as well, rumors that a first option on Bale will be included (which means that if Spurs decide to sell him at anytime, Madrid would have the option to match any price)

If true just a shrewd move by Madrid. Get rid of a player surplus to requirements while gaining first option on one of the best young players in the game.

Plus you have now made Bale aware that they are interested and rate him very highly, while not going the Man City/ Barca route of being douchy about it in the media.

Guess all is well in regards to the elephant chant? This really surprises me. Not because it isn't a good move for Spurs but because Adebayor made a big stink about the chanting during last years CL.

he has been flirting with Spurs since last year

plus he supposedly loves Harry after Harry defended him for the incident vs Arsenal when he was at Man City

guess it's the whole 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'
