I would check out Dell Day of Deals, for $399 (for the rest of the day) you can get a very similarly specced machine.

Quote:
Intel® Pentium® dual-core E6700(3.20GHz,2MB L2,1066MHz)
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64Bit, English
Dell 19 in 1 Media Card Reader
No Monitor
4GB DDR3 SDRAM - 2 DIMMs
1TB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™
Integrated Intel® GMA X4500 Graphics
16X DVD+/-RW Drive
1 Year Premium Hardware Service
That said, the processor is a bit outdated and it shows in the price. Still pretty decent if you dont ever plan on gaming or doing processor intensive stuff (converting video formats maybe). Would probably be really hurting in 3 or 4 years, but thats a fairly standard replacement cycle for a business machine.

I would stay way from a Shuttle system if I were you, just from having owned 3 and my friend owning 3 as well.

The processor is very old and won't be very fast. You shouldn't be buying anything with core 2 duo Socket 775 technology in 2011 as a new computer that you will be keeping for years. The other stuff is decent and modern. The CPU and chipset are old.

I'd look at an i5 or i3 system. Here's an i5 system for about the same price. Maybe upgrade the hard drive.
