iPhone to iCal Sync Help

Hey CP,

Just picked up an iPhone and was wondering if I could pick your collective genius.

Is there a way to sync my iPhone to iCal (and vice versa) so that any changes I make will instantly show up on each device? I'm hoping to do this without setting up a google calendar if possible.

Right now I have Leopard so I don't have iCloud built into the OS but on the phone, I enabled iCloud to subscribe to my iCal...

Am I completely off base? When I update either device, all changes stay and will not sync.

Leopard or Snow Leopard? Makes a huge difference in what your options are.

In About This Mac, is it version 10.5. or version 10.6?

It's convoluted, but you could get it working via Google calendars and a piece of software called BusySync, which will let you synchronize pre-Snow Leopard iCal with Google calendars, and then from there, you get the push changes back and forth to your iPhone.

Is there a particular reason you haven't upgraded the OS to Lion? You're missing out on quite a bit of features (basic sync between your phone and iCal being one of them).
