Default Folder Monitor Tool for Servers

Hey guys, my boss wants me to monitor folder changes on the servers here. Basically we are looking for folders that grow the most and grow quickly so we can be aware, but also make changes to ensure that the drive contents don't get out of hand.

The three server drives are mapped, so I have access to them easily from my local machine via drive letters. I just downloaded an app called Directory Monitor and I'm giving it a shot, but I don't think I am going to get any information like what I am looking for above. Graphs would be great to show me what folders have grown the most since a certain time, etc.

Of course I would prefer to find a free app if one exists, but if not, then something that is fairly decently priced.

Ideas?

What OS?

If windows, why cant you just use File Server Resource Manager?

If not, then write a diff script to handle what you need and import it to a CSV file for Excel if you want some fancy graphs.

It's Windows, yes.

Dunno, guess I could look into it. I'm not one of those fancy book-learnin' server admins...just a guy who works with IT within a small office environment

Just would prefer to find a Windows app that could kind of take a snapshot of the folders, display them in a graph and then I could use it to do the same the next day and see what may have grown more than expected and go from there.

Try Spacesniffer then, it produces a nice graphical result that might be usable for you.

In reality though, try the File Server Resource Manager, it really is quite good and I think it does almost exactly what you want, including emails for stuff like quotas, duplicate files, large files etc.
