Default All these CP draft threads in FOI forum.

I thought we had a forum for drafts? It is kind of getting annoying to go to the Fire On Ice forum and running into all these draft threads. Can we get them moved Contests, Drafts, ect.. thread where they should be?

There hockey related so I thought it would be fine to keep them there. If the mods disagree they can move them. But the second those threads are moved is the second that they die

The problem with that is that FOI will quickly become cluttered with draft threads. It happens to every hockey board until they create a draft forum. It sets an example that posters can set up their drafts in the FOI forum and that is not what that forum is for.

I support moving them if it is permanent.

As long as the draft only lasts for a little while and is done before he regular season I'm fine with it b

Do you have a problem with the mock drafts Oilfan (I think) usually runs? What about the Flames draft contest? The only problem with the Contests/Drafts thread is NOONE ever goes there and then the drafts are forgotten about and never finished. Has a draft ever been completed in that thread?

I simply don't want to see the FOI forum become cluttered with multiple draft threads when it is not the proper forum for drafts and I start having to wade through draft threads to get my Flames related threads and news. I don't know if a draft has ever been completed in the draft thread nor do I care, that is where draft threads belong though. I don't care about a few but those few will become many fast if they are left there. It is the mods call but we have a forum for drafts and that is where they belong.

As it stands right now the 3 threads on the draft are the only ones that will be used. However I do understand if people want it moved to the contests forum. I have put in alot of work to it, so I do hope we can at least get it done.

Well 3 does not bother me and I would rather see you guys get your drafts done then them go to nothing, I understand you have put a lot of effort into them. I just don't want a bunch of draft threads popping up in there.

Wade through? There was only 3 threads. What Flames topics could they of possibly slowed you down from finding? Gay pride march thread? Vancouver riot thread? Tyutin signs an extension thread? The move probably killed our draft that some people put a lot of hard work and effort into. Thanks though

Please don't place the blame on dissentowner.

1) The threads were in the wrong place. Period. The subform where the belong actually has "drafts" in the subtitle.
2) He could have just reported the posts; but instead put it to a discussion. Good on him for that.
3) In the end it wasn't him who moved them; it was the mod team.
4) If the drafts are that important to you, take the car out of your signature and have a link to it instead.

Why shouldn't I? The draft was going along nicely until he reported it. It was a fun little thing to keep some of us occupied until the season started. And like I said, some people here put a lot of work into that draft and now it's wasted because of someone who got their way

No, the threads were put in the wrong forum to begin with. So put the blame on the people who broke the rules to begin with. (Which is why that was my first response.)

Ken, I made the original thread in the Fire on Ice Forum because I thought it would be fine (we've had various NHL mock drafts on there before). So I guess it was my fault. But my question is, has a draft of any type ever been completed in the drafts sub forum? Because in my experience they make it 5 or so rounds and then they die because no one regularly visits the drafts sub forum. Although it is nice to have the drafts in their own place, it seems pointless because they are never finished.

If people cared enough about the drafts they would make a point in going to that sub forum or bookmarking the thread. Great decision by the Mod team to clean up the board, nothing worse than clutter on the main forum. I've been on other forums where the forum was basically ruined by these games.

My 0.02. Put them in the draft sub forum. That's what it's for. If people really enjoy it, they will follow. Maybe we can make a poll and vote on it.

How in the hell did I get my way? I simply brought up that there was a forum for drafts and they should go there and not the FOI forum. How does that make me the bad guy? Stop making it sound like I just wanted to sabotoge your draft, that is childish!

Did I say you wanted to "sabotage" the draft? There was three threads, all related for the same draft. It has been known the draft sub forum is rarely visited (Look at how many of the drafts are hockey related) and not many drafts are actually completed in there. Those three threads didn't disrupt anything on the FOI forum or your forum use, especially Flames related. Maybe if there was 3 or 4 different drafts going on I would understand making an issue out of it, but complaining about one doesn't make any sense. Why don't you get the NHL.com redraft thread moved?

If we started the draft in the proper "sub-forum" this wouldn't of happened, but it getting moved will make it difficult for all 30 people to keep up on it and will most likely completely fall apart before the next round

Long Version
So maybe there's 3 draft threads now. What's the big deal? Well, maybe 4 other people see those threads and think their draft threads won't be a big deal either. Then you have 7 draft threads, and before you know it, people are clicking on the second page just to find out whether or not people still want to trade Iginla for a draft pick. It's a lot easier to move a couple of threads into the right sub-forum now than it is to clean up two pages of them later.

Short Version
Rules are rules, and the sub-forum was created for a reason.
