Default Cool Ball hockey league in Calgary

Hey guys,

Check out this add for a fun ball hockey league in Calgary. Me and my buddy played last year and it was pretty good! Sorry for the "spam" but i thought you may like to know...

The Alliance Floor Hockey League is getting ready to start its 8th season on September 13, 2011. We are one of the few leagues in Calgary that is for men only and allows players to use regular hockey sticks. We also track player's stats on our website, http://www.alliancefloorhockey.com

Our season is 40 games long (20 nights) + playoffs and runs from September to April on Monday and Tuesday evenings. The cost per player is only $60 and that includes a team jersey. You wont find a better value in the city.

You can find more information about the AFHL at our website, http://www.alliancefloorhockey.com , or by contacting us at mailto:alliancefloorhockey@gmail.com

Registration is open until September 23, and space is limited.

ok, i looked ... is this a faith based league? ie, is there a prayer session, before, after, during or at all involved in the league play?

i ask because it seems from your website to be sponsered by a number of churches.

I joined the league mid-season last year(on the advice of another fellow CP member) and it is an awesome place to play. There is no church based element to the league as far as I know, besides the locations at which the league is played in. I highly recommend the league

If I wasn't already playing ball hockey on Mondays, I'd join. is CSC centre street church? I've wanted to join this league a while now like a year or two ago, but felt I wasn't good enough to compete.. haha.

yep, mondays are tough for me too, i didn't join this season because of that (and now tuesdays are booked) I might join mid-season still. CSC is centre street church, at the old (i think its the west) campus. it's a fun league, I definitely reccomend it, not too intense, but a pretty good skill level, and it's cool to see your stats as the season goes on. I'm really not very good but I did ok in the league

Tough to hear about the scheduling as you are the one who set me up with the league. It is an awesome league and I wouldn't say the level of skill is overly high. It's only 3 on 3 so theres lots of goals which is nice haha.

Cool, thanks for chiming in guys. Ya they are right there is no prayer or anything but you can definitely tell there is a difference- for the positive- in terms of the league and the type of intensity.

The skill and intensity is definitely there but they do a good job of trying to keep it in perspective and promoting good sportsmanship, etc.

Hope that helps and that you decide to take a look.
