Default 2011 PGA Championship

Steve Stricker the leader currently at -6 thru 12.

Leaders in the clubhouse right now are Brendon de Jonge and Matteo Manassero at -2.

Tiger started hot at -3 thru 5 and is now +6 thru 15.

Ryo Ishikawa shot himself out of contention with an 85 on Thursday.

Afternoon wave just starting out.

Wow. That is not a scorecard I should be seeing from Tiger Woods.

Golf is not as fun when Tiger isn't Tiger.

Dustin Johnson will win this tournament!

And Tiger will be back, can't expect too much out of someone who hasn't played professional golf over the last 4 months coming off a serious injury. Once he builds up the smaller parts of the golf game he will be fine, he has almost zero touch around the greens and his distance control is not great right now.

Well, he needed to make 14th or something this weekend to qualify for the playoffs. I guess he'll have the whole off-season to prepare now.

He'll qualify for the Barclays, but he has already opted not to play.

Stricker comes close to setting a new low score in a major, but pars out for 63. McIlroy is in trouble right now, might be injured after hitting a tree root.

Ya it was 14th. Honestly I'm kinda glad, I still think he rushed back a bit to make it to this last Major. Hopefully 2012 will be Tiger's comeback year with a few top finishes in 2011 to get his game and mind back on track. Too much talent to just fall off the face of the planet and become a regular guy on tour.

Hasn't it been a couple of years since he showed that talent?

I won't be surprised if he goes on a short streak of wins, but I think his period of dominance is over.

Physio guy says he's not going to injure his wrist further and can continue to play.

If I am McIlroy i am thinking of shutting it down. Clearly he is not 100% or even close, and whether or not physio guy says I can still play and not do damage, things happen when you play injured. His swing thru the ball is nothing like it normally is and when that happens it can lead to other injuries becausse you are subconciously protecting what already hurts.

He is a young guy with a boatload of possibilities ahead of him and screwing up something now for the short term benefit simply isnt worth it IMO.

That being said, 22 YO's think in the moment at all times and he is likely no different and will probably carry on as long as he is able.

I'm cheering for Ricky Fowler. His hair and clothes are stupid, but I really like his style of game.

I want to buy him a hat that fits and a gift certificate for a haircut.

He reminds me a lot of young Andre Agassi - lots of talent, nice guy, but focused a little too much on style.

Hmmm....will the 'no-namers' Brendan Steele, Jason Dufner or Keegan Bradley strike major glory, or will some established vet take this thing....

If I have one big criticism of the AAC PGA Championship course, I wish they'd grow the rough bigger to make it more penalizing for missing fairways. On the plus side, the greens did seem to be pretty quick.

I wanted K.J. Choi to win this thing.

The course has handed out more double bogeys or worse thru three rounds than any other major championship course. I like it, players are trying to make crazy recovery shots and sometimes they work, but most of the time they're finding the water. If the rough was thick they'd all be playing conservative. I personally prefer watching these guys try to show off their talent making shots as opposed to managing the course.

Well this tournament is essentially get as low as you can by the 14th hole and try to come in at no worse than +1. Really it's looking like 13 is your last birdie hole, but those last four are playing tough, especially 18.
