Default Moving Company Recommendations?

Hi all,

Looking for recommendations on a moving company.

Our friends recently had pretty good experience with MiniMovers.

Anyone else have experience with this or other suggestions. We will be doing a lot of the smaller stuff ourselves, but wanted to get some helps with bigger items to avoid hassles.

Many thanks in advance.

Do a search - there is a not-too-old thread on this very topic with many opinions. Personally, I would use Premiere Van Lines - I have used them 3 times with great results.

Thanks Vlad - my search results (although my foggy brain these days could easily have missed) revealed more tips about renting a moving vehicle.

I will check out Premiere - thanks for the suggestion.

Tip have all you stuff boxed and ready to go. I wouldn't worry about moving the smaller stuff yourself. If you are prepared and ready to go they will have it out in no time.

+1 for Premiere. I used them in 2007 and was satisfied.

I have used MiniMovers. It was just okay. You get what you pay for. They scratched up a few furniture, but no big deal. I rented a U-Haul the day before and moved 85% of boxed items with a couple of buddies in 6 hours(this is for a family of four). Movers came in the next day and picked up heavier, bulky items such as bedroom sets, piano, and exercise equipments..maybe took a couple of hours. Paid cash and got some discount. Other movers wanted minimum booking time and charged an arm and a leg for moving piano. Might want to check BBB website as well for any complaints, etc. against a moving company.
